Spring Beauty Picks

Spring Beauty Picks | A Girl, Obsessed

Sometimes spring can be a tricky season for me in terms of beauty. It's such a transitional time - some days are chilly and wet, while others are humid and hot. Finding the perfect beauty products for the season is a bit of trial-and-error, but once you do it can be such a relief. When I'm trying to find new products to add to my spring beauty routines, I always look for ones that are flexible and work well in different types of weather.

When it comes to spring skincare, I like things that are light and refreshing while still offering a lot of moisture. My skin is usually still dry from the cold winter weather, so any added hydration is a definite plus. I'm a big fan of facial sprays, and Jurlique's Rosewater Balancing Mist* is one of my favorites for being so nourishing for the skin. On top of all of that, the rose scent is especially perfect for the season. My moisturizer of choice right now is the Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer*. If there is one thing my skin is during this season, it's dull. Having a moisturizer that is both brightening and energizing is super helpful for giving some glow back to your skin. My final spring skincare pick is a sugar scrub to get my lips back in healthy condition. After a season of cold weather and chapped patches, they can definitely use it. My favorite right now is the Lip Polish Rose du Maroc* from French Girl Organics. It's such a great scrub that's the perfect mix of rose and mint, and is made with all natural ingredients so I always feel good about using it.

Springtime makeup, for me, means the reintroduction of pink. I tend to take a break from it during the fall and most of the winter, so spring means I get to break out all of my favorite pink products.  The one I'm most excited about using again is the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette. I picked this up last year and didn't get to use it quite as much as I wanted before switching over to my autumn makeup, so I'm super excited to start using it again. This palette has so many gorgeous neutral shades that are right up my alley, plus a few pink shades that are perfect for the season. Another pink option that's a must for me this time of year is Maybelline's Color Elixir Lip Lacquer in Hibiscus Haven. I always love this color because it's a bright Barbie doll pink but isn't too crazy, plus I'm a huge fan of glossy lip for spring.

As far as spring foundations go, I like a lightweight base that works at evening out my skin tone while still eating my actual skin shine through. NYX recently came out with the Total Control Drop Foundation, and I've been reaching for it a lot since the weather warmed up. It provides a nice bit of coverage without being too much, and I love the little dropper that allows me to use only as much product as I need. My skin always looks so nice when I use this paired with an illuminating primer. My final spring beauty pick for this season is, of course, an Essie nail polish. You just can't have spring without a pretty pastel mani, which is why I've pulled Lilacism to the front of my polish stash. This pastel purple is a staple for my springtime beauty routine, and a fresh coat always makes me feel ready for the season.
